Classic wedding cocktail The French 75
Do you have a signature cocktail for your wedding cocktail hour? Signature cocktails are an excellent way to add personalization to your special day without adding too much cost, can be easy to execute if planned correctly, and helps streamline those indecisive guests at the bar line.
First of all, keep it simple. If you are not hiring mixologists, the execution might not be what you are looking for (we are mixologists- so have at it with us!)
We love the French 75 as a starting point for your signature cocktail. With the base being, gin and prosecco, with a splash of citrus, you can use a call brand or "name brand" gin to make it feel Lux, or you can add a garnish that fits your wedding color pallet.
This drink will get served in champagne flutes, so have you thought about your glassware? Rocks glasses or collins glasses can be very universal for most well drinks -vodka sodas, gin and tonics etc.
But if you greet your guests with a signature French 75 in a champagne flute, it feels really special.
This drink has a very dry finish so it won't compete with—and actually even compliments—the food flavors you might have at your cocktail hour (think shrimp cocktail, bruschetta, mini chicken sliders, cheese board...oh man, I'm getting hungry, hahahaha)
Be careful though, this is a high ABV cocktail, make sure you are not overserving your guests too early in the evening.
